Thinking of booking an appointment?

  • Do you know what you’d like to enhance or achieve, but don’t know exactly what treatment is right for you? Whether it’s sparse brows, broken or weak nails or a particular skin concern, I can tailor and tweak your treatment to your needs.

Perhaps you know what treatment or combination of treatments you’d like, but want to be sure you’ll leave still looking and feeling like ‘you’, and not the latest Instagram trend? I promise to listen to what you want and make you look and feel like an enhanced version of you.

If you’re in any doubt about which treatment, or combination of treatments, is best for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we can work this out together.

  • My treatment menu and prices can be found here.

  • The quickest and easiest way to book an appointment is via my online booking system, where you can select an appointment date and time that suits you. You can access the booking system here. If it’s your first time booking an appointment with me, I’ll follow up with a phone call, just to say hello, and to ask a couple of quick questions to make sure we’re providing the best treatment for you, depending on what you’re looking to achieve. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.

If you’d rather not use the online booking system, please don’t hesitate to get in touch by phone, email or social media. You can find my contact details here.

  • Patch tests are required for the following treatments:

    Lash lift and tint
    Lash lift
    Lash tint
    Complete brow definition
    Brow tint
    Henna brows
    Brow lamination

If you have booked, or are considering booking a waxing treatment, you can choose to have a patch test if you wish. This is recommended if you have previously experienced a reaction to a waxing treatment, or if you have particularly sensitive skin.

The purpose of the patch test is to ensure that you won’t have an allergic reaction to any of the products used during your treatment, so it’s critical that if you book for one of the above treatments, we get you in for a patch test at least 48 hours before your treatment. The patch test is completely free and only takes around 5 minutes. We test a tiny amount of each of the products used in the treatment on your forearm – that way, if you were to have a reaction, you would see it clearly, and be able to wash the product off easily.

If you’re booking your treatment through my online booking system, you can book your patch test at the same time – just be sure you book it in for at least 48 hours prior to your treatment date and time.

  • I offer both gel polish and ‘normal’ nail polish (OPI). The advantage of gel polish is primarily that it lasts so much longer – most clients get 2–3 weeks’ wear from the gel polish brand I use. It also has a glossy shine that ‘normal’ polish can’t compete with.

You may be concerned that gel polish is ‘bad’ for your nails. This is a bit of a myth. In reality, having a gel overlay can add strength to your natural nails. What is often the cause of damage to the natural nail is improper removal of the gel polish - i.e. picking or peeling them off! Please don’t do that!

If you come for regular gel nail and/or pedicure treatments, I will remove the old gel polish for you in the proper manner, before applying the new set. Depending on the products we choose for you, it may be possible to ‘infill’ the polish at each appointment, which for those with weak nails can be a great way to protect the natural nail from the dehydrating effects of removal using acetone. If you have your gel nails done with me as a ‘one-off’, you can still come back to me for removal (from £10), or I can provide you with a little kit and advice on how to remove them safely at home.

  • Please have a look at my cancellation policy, here.

  • Treatments for under 18s are considered on a case by case basis. Please get in touch to discuss this.

Any clients under the age of 18 will need to be supervised by a parent or guardian over 18 at all times and a consent form will need to be signed to give permission for the treatment.

  • I want to ensure that every client who comes to the salon feels safe and secure.

Please be assured that I frequently wash and sanitise my hands, and hand sanitiser is available for clients to use when entering the salon. All tools are disinfected between appointments, and I allow plenty of time between appointments in order to thoroughly clean and sanitise the salon before each new client.

You can find out about my Covid-19 hygiene practices specifically, here.

In addition, the treatment room is equipped with a first aid kit, smoke alarm, fire extinguisher and fire blanket, and a carbon monoxide alarm.

You are always welcome to see my health and safety policy and my Covid-19 risk assessment for peace of mind, so please just ask.

Preparing for your appointment

  • Please be sure that you have had a patch test at least 48 hours prior to your treatment (see FAQ regarding patch testing).

If you are currently using a lash growth serum, please stop using it for 72 hours prior to your appointment.

You will not be able to wear contact lenses for 24 hours after your treatment, so please either wear glasses to your appointment, or be prepared to remove your contacts and bring glasses to wear after your treatment.

If possible, please arrive to your appointment without any eye makeup on. Having to remove makeup eats into the appointment time; I’d much rather spend the full appointment taking as much care and attention to detail to the treatment as possible!

  • If you use ‘active’ skincare – namely skincare that contains active ingredients such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), or vitamin A / retinoids (usually referred to as retinol) – please stop using the product(s) for at least 72 hours before your appointment. These ingredients can thin the skin, making it more susceptible to grazing when waxed.

Please also avoid sunbeds and self-tan for 48 hours before.

  • Body hair should be at least ¼ to ½ an inch when you attend your appointment – usually about 4 weeks’ regrowth. If you have coarse hair, it should ideally be closer to ½ inch for the first few waxes. Once the hair becomes finer it can be waxed at a shorter length. If you have removed the hair via waxing / shaving / plucking or any other way any less than 4 weeks ago, whilst we might still be able to carry out your wax, you are likely to get some regrowth quite soon after your treatment. If your hair is longer than ½ an inch, we can trim it prior to waxing (this is quite common for example, with bikini line hair).

If you use ‘active’ skincare – namely skincare that contains active ingredients such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), or vitamin A / retinoids (usually referred to as retinol) – please stop using the product(s) for at least 72 hours before your appointment. These ingredients can thin the skin, making it more susceptible to grazing when waxed.

Please also avoid sunbeds and self-tan for 48 hours before.

For leg, bikini line and underarm waxing, you’ll probably want to wear some old, comfy underwear, and comfy clothing to leave in.

For facial waxing, it’s helpful if you can come to your appointment without makeup on the area to be waxed. Having to remove makeup eats into the appointment time; I’d much rather spend the full appointment taking as much care and attention to detail to the treatment as possible!

  • If you’ll be coming to your first appointment with gel polish already on, please let be sure to let me know. If you’re booking online, please add on ‘Removal of gel polish’ as a service, in addition to your nail and/or pedicure treatment.

If you’re having a pedicure with ‘normal’ nail polish as opposed to gel polish, don’t forget your flip flops!

Your appointment

  • Taylored Beauty is based in the lovely village of Swanton Morley, less than 4 miles from Dereham. We’re about 150 meters from Swanton Morley Stores, the butchers and Darbys pub. You can find us on Google Maps, here, but if you need directions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Our house is number 7 Blenheim Drive – the white house straight in front of you as you come up Blenheim Drive. If you’re driving, you can park on the driveway behind my car. Walk down the driveway and through the back gate and you’ll find me in the converted garage on your left!

  • Please try to arrive on time for your appointment. My days in the salon are usually very busy, so I try to run a well-oiled machine! Both lateness and early arrivals can impact that.

If you are over 10 minutes late for your appointment, I may have to reschedule your treatment if it cannot be completed in the remaining time frame. All attempts to reschedule in a timely manner will be made. If I do not hear from you 10 or more minutes into your scheduled appointment time it is considered a “no show” and you will be required to pay for 50% of the cost of the treatment scheduled.

Whilst I do appreciate it when my clients allow plenty of time to ensure they arrive on time for their appointment, if you do arrive early, I ask that you wait in your car until your appointment time. As above, because my days are usually very busy, I’m likely either to be with my previous client, or cleaning and sanitising the treatment room, and getting it prepared for you. (Or, I might be having a food / comfort break.) I try to allow ample time between clients for all these things, and an early arrival, however well-intentioned, can make things a little stressful!

  • One of the benefits of coming to my at-home salon is the removal of the stress and cost of parking! When you arrive, please park on the driveway behind my car. Then, walk down the driveway and through the back gate and you’ll find me in the converted garage on your left!

  • Yes, absolutely – in fact, it’s positively encouraged! I have a range of teas, coffees and herbal teas for you to choose from whilst enjoying your nail or pedicure treatment(s). And whatever your treatment, you’ll always be offered a glass of water when you arrive, and after your treatment.

  • Of course! You’re always welcome to pop in and use the loo in my house.

  • If you’re anxious and would like to bring a family member or friend along to your appointment, that’s not a problem. They’re welcome to sit and have a cuppa whilst you’re having your treatment. Please do let me know ahead of your appointment, though, and note that there is room for just one other person. Unfortunately, I am not able to allow infants or children in the salon, for health and safety and insurance reasons.

  • Yes, absolutely. I understand that pressure to make small talk with someone you don’t know can be a bit overwhelming for some people, especially if you are struggling with your mental health at the moment. You can absolutely decide whether you do or don’t want to talk.

At your first treatment with me, we’ll need to go through a short consultation process to ensure I have the necessary information to carry out your treatment but after that, if you’d prefer quiet time, please don’t feel uncomfortable saying so! You can also let me know whether you’d like music playing, or silence. We can even find a podcast or audio book to listen to, if that helps make your treatment time more relaxing.

  • You can pay by cash or card – whichever you prefer.

  • Yes, I have a card machine in the treatment room.

  • Of course. In fact, my qualification certificates are on the treatment room wall, so you can’t miss them! I’m also happy to share my insurance details, my health and safety policy and my Covid-19 risk assessment for your peace of mind, so please feel free to ask.

After your appointment

  • Aftercare advice specific to the treatment(s) you have had will be discussed during your appointment. You’ll also be given an aftercare card to take away with you, as I know how easy it is for advice to go in one ear and out of the other – especially when you’re feeling lovely and relaxed, or just so excited about the results of your treatment you can’t concentrate on anything else!

  • Taylored Beauty requires clients’ full name, phone number, address, postcode and email address, as well as information about your age and health, medication and previous treatment experiences. Information is collected when you book a treatment online, book treatment over the phone or as part of the consultation process at the beginning of your first appointment. I require this information in order to ensure that it is safe for me to provide you with treatments you may ask for, and for insurance purposes.

I will store your data in a locked cabinet that only I have access to. This will be stored for 7 years after the date of your treatment, or for 7 years after you have reached the age of 18 if you are/were under 18 when your treatment took place. I will never share your information with anyone outside of Taylored Beauty unless I have written consent from you.

You can read my privacy policy in full, here.

  • Yes! Gift vouchers can be purchased for specific treatments, or for an amount of your choice. They’re a high-quality card and come with an equally high-quality envelope, so you have something ‘physical’ to give your loved one (much nicer than a digital voucher, in my opinion!)
